Job description

Assistant Managers show apartments to potential residents, lease apartments to qualified applicants, renew leases with current residents, and perform duties concerning the property as directed.

Responsibilities:

  • Warmly greets visitors, prospective residents, and current residents.
  • Provides potential resident with information about the community and tours the property and available units.
  • Consults with prospective residents to identify requirements and budgets, then matches these needs with available properties/units.
  • Ensures available and model apartments are fresh and tidy.
  • Guides an applicant through the application process.
  • Prepares lease documents for supervisor’s review and approval; obtains signatures from management and residents.
  • Coordinates move-in dates, materials, and processes.
  • Prepares move-in materials.
  • Creates, develops, and maintains a wait list as needed.
  • Tours property to ensure it is neat, tidy, attractive, and in good repair.
  • Assists with recordkeeping, filing, bookkeeping, and paperwork as required.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Outgoing, friendly attitude with the ability to make others feel welcome and comfortable.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with good sales and customer service skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and organized.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Two years of customer service experience required.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
  • Must be able to travel regularly between property locations.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer and standing and walking, giving tours, and meeting with potential residents.
  • Must be able to lift 20 pounds.
  • Must be able to go upstairs.
  • Must be able to bend, kneel, and reach.
  • Must be able to traverse a variety of properties with stairs and in a variety of weather.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
