Job Description


TOUR I: (12am-8am)

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

To Coordinate Staffing in the Nursing Administration Department/NIS Office

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reports to the Assistant Director of Nursing

SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Under supervision, enter daily staffing activities and unit related data (i.e., census) into the CLAIRVIA staffing system.
  • Utilize CLAIRVIA staffing system, including the analysis tools to fine-tune and update agency nurse staffing data.
  • Serve as liaison for data transmission from nurse staffing agencies and provides timely information for nursing administration decision-making.
  • Utilize the CLAIRVIA staffing system including: Enter Workload Data; View Cost Center Staffing; View Alter Individual Staffing; Print Staffing Worksheet; and Staffer House Coverage.
  • Operate a variety of data entry equipment to transform, transcribe and verify source material to computer-readable media; enter into database and retrieve data from computer terminal according to established guidelines.
  • Abstract and code designated information from source material according to predetermined coding system; research lost or missing information in accordance with established procedures.
  • Reformat, rearrange and/or interpret material as necessary utilizing standard department applications and methods.
  • Verify accuracy, validity and completion of transcribed data by computer verification, proofreading computer display or printout, or other applicable methods; make corrections as necessary.
  • Compile reports from existing records; assist with special projects by searching computer and other files and gathering records as requested.
  • Maintain associated logs and records in accordance with established priorities and procedures.
  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
  • Answer phones and assist staff when necessary or as requested by supervisor
  • Offer assistance as necessary based on daily staffing needs.
  • Serve as technical resource person for Nurse Administrators and Mangers.

Requirements:

  • Proficient knowledge of MS Word and Excel
  • Knowledge of MS Access and CLAIRVIA is preferred.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Community Health, Psychology or related discipline with one year of full-time experience in a supervisory or administrative capacity in business management systems, general administration, health care and medical/patient systems administration; or,
  • A satisfactory combination of education, training and experience.
