This position supports the banquet operations of our Four Points by Sheraton Hotel and Conference Center!


Responsibilities:


The Assistant Banquet Manager position is responsible for collaborating with the Banquet Manager to lead, manage and operate the front of the house banquet operations. The employee is responsible for supervising and coordinating the execution of all corporate and social events taking place in the hotel while keeping with the standards prescribed by senior management. The Assistant Banquet Manager is also responsible for directly supervising waitstaff, bartenders, and breaks servers during their shift. This position is primarily concerned with the ‘front of the house’ operations but will be required to travel through and perform minor culinary duties as needed. The Assistant Banquet Manager works the hotel breakfast restaurant when needed and any other duties assigned. The Assistant Banquet Manager will have full decision-making authority and responsibility in Banquet Manager’s absence. Assists Banquet Manager with duties such as:
  • Collaborate with the food and beverage management team in planning and coordinating special events such as Easter Day Brunch, Mother’s Day brunch (serving over 1,000 guests per event). Assists with tracking reservations. Direct FOH contact for all social events.
  • Recruiting, training and supervising staff. Assisting the Banquet Manager with managing front of the house banquet operations including planning, systems, policies and procedures.
  • Managing budgets and setting financial goals for the department. Keeps statistical and financial records. Prepares and presents staffing and sales reports. Constantly assesses the operation and makes profitable decisions to better the property.
  • Providing feedback regarding menus.
  • Ensuring compliance with licensing, hygiene and health and safety legislation/guidelines.
  • Assists in marketing and promotions of hotel and department.
  • Oversees product stock levels.
  • Meets and greets guests upon arrival and departure of events. Interacts daily with guests and handles customer inquiries and complaints.
  • Makes recommendations on upgrading equipment and service levels.
  • Cash handling and administrative duties
  • Performance management for FOH staff including annual merit increases


Qualifications:


  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum 2 years in a similar food & beverage role, with supervisory experience
  • Skilled in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Proficient in reading/writing the English language
The hiring range for this position is $61,900-$88,895 USD. The final salary offer will vary based on geographic location, individual education, skills, and experience.
