Anticipated Opening for 2023-2024 Fall Season
Position: Assistant Athletic Director – (Range V) – Harding High School
Time Schedule: August 1, 2023 - November 15, 2023
Salary Rate or Ratio: Salary/Stipend
Reports to: Athletic Director
Employment Status: Supplemental Contract
FLSA Status: Exempt
Description: To assist the athletic director in operating and supporting athletic programs
at Harding High School.
Qualifications: • Holder of a valid Ohio teaching certificate/license or PASP –
Pupil Activity Supervisor Permit issued by the Ohio Department
of Education which includes:
Cardiac Arrest Training – Lindsey’s Law
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Employee shall remain free of any alcohol or non-prescribed controlled substance use in the workplace throughout his/her employment with the District.

- Concussion Education
- Valid CPR Certification
- First Aide/Health Safety

- Alternative to the above qualifications as superintendent and/or board of
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- An extensive knowledge and background of high school athletics
- Ability to work effectively with others
- Ability to communicate ideas and directives clearly and effectively both orally and in writing
- Effective, active listening skills
- Organizational and problem solving skills
- Knowledge of child development and an understanding of age appropriate tasks
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Interacts in a positive manner with staff, parents and students
- Establish and maintain cooperative relationships
- Be responsible in assisting high school athletic director in the management of athletic facilities
- Assist in event preparation and planning
- Assist in management of events as site manager when needed.
- Assist in the preparation of financial materials and documents for contests that require them
- Be responsible for securing game help for all contests and events including ticket takers,
- Security, clock operators, statisticians, spotters and other necessary game personnel as needed
- Exhibit professional behavior, emotional stability and sound judgment
- Respond appropriately to crisis situations (i.e. emergencies, employee/parent concerns)
- Ensure the safety of students
- Set a good moral and ethical example for athletes, the student body, and community
- Follow the athletic policy so there will be consistency in dealing with athletes in a fair and firm manner
- Conduct oneself in an ethical manner during contests and practices
- Responsible for all equipment and inventory during athletic events
- Cooperate with other sports/coaches to develop a total athletic program
- Promote good public relations by personal appearance, attitude, and conversation
- Maintain good attendance and punctuality
- Work cooperatively with the teaching staff, administration and parents
- Promote programs to the parents, community, and students
- Assist athletic director in scheduling contests
- Maintain appropriate licenses/endorsements and training hours as required
- Adhere to all standards established by the Ohio Department of Education for Licensed Educators
- Refer suspected cases of child abuse immediately to the appropriate child protective services/law enforcement agency as mandated by state law and Board of Education policy
- Follows Board Policy
- Other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director

- Regular requirement to sit, stand, walk, jog, talk, hear, see, read, speak, reach, stretch with hands and arms, crouch, climb, kneel, and stoop
