MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES:
- Maintaining ammunition accountability at two geographically separated locations:
- Deployment Ammunition Storage Area (DASA)
- Ammunition Supply Point (ASP)
- Planning and Production Control
- Unit Issues/Turn-ins including live, inert and ammunition residue
- Incoming/Outgoing Shipments and Vehicle Inspections
- Daily spot checks of records and storage locations
- Customer service and customer satisfaction
- DA 385-64 Ammunition and Explosive Safety Standards
- Utilization of Personal Protective Equipment
- Vehicle and Material Handling Equipment (MHE) Operations
- Quantity Distance and Compatibility standards during all ammunition operations
- Safety and Fire fighting SOPs, and Fire Symbols
- Work Assignments and assigns overtime assignment when required
Responsible for Maintenance of Buildings, Grounds and Equipment to include:
- Daily, weekly and monthly preventive maintenance checks on MHE
- Maintenance and Cleanliness of facilities, grounds and tools
- Emergency work orders on all buildings and storage facilities
- Monthly Mileage Report on GSA vehicles
Responsible for administrative matters to include:
- Assist in the development, documentation and implementation ASP SOPs/IOP’s
- Document control to preclude loss of ammunition documents and records
Ensures physical security procedures are complied with to include:
- Key and Lock Inventory and Control
- Security of Munitions IAW AR 190-11 and DOD 5100.76-M
- Compliance with the “Two-Person Rule”
- Security Construction Statements in each storage location
- Escorting personnel requiring access to the ASP not on an approved access roster
- Perform weekend physical security checks of the facility
Responsible for the certification and training of all ASP personnel to include:
- Certification courses required by AMC Regulation 350-4, AMC Regulation 700-77 and DA Pam 385-64
- Maintenance of certification documentation
- Certification and Licensing of personnel on MHE
- All required refresher training requirements
- Sustainment training for individual tasks
- Fire fighting training
Ensures accountability of ammunition and government furnished property (GFE) to include:
- Proper procedures for issues, turn-ins, shipments and receipts
- Daily transaction surveys and monthly
- Location surveys as required
- Quarterly wall to wall inventory and causative research as required
- Special inventories as directed by the Accountable Officer
- Maintaining GFE assigned to ASP Hand Receipt
- Basic Ammunition Certifications (Ammo-45,63,64,67 and 68).
- General Transportation of Hazardous Meterial (Ammo-62), upon recertification (Ammo-37).
- Intermodal Dry Cargo (Ammo-43).
- Army Electrical Explosive Safety (Ammo-28).
- Familiar with:
- DA Pam 700-16
- DA Pam 385-64
- AR 190-11
- AR 190-51
- DOD 5100-76 M
- AMC Reg 350-4
- AMC Reg 700-77
- Standard Army Ammunition System-Modernization (SASS-MOD)
- Total Ammunition Management Information System (TAMIS)
- Enviromental Considerations for Ammunition Personnel (Ammo-31)
- Munitions History Program (Ammo-97).
- Risk Management and Preparation of SOP for Ammunition and Explosives Certification (Ammo-54).
- Introduction to Explosives Safety Management for Safety Professionals (Ammo-107).
- Must have comprehensive knowledge of supply and services, maintenance and transportation operations, as well as Army governing regulations, policies and procedures.
- Must have the ability to work independently and in a team-based, highly collaborative environment.
- Must have strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact with subordinates, peers and senior personnel.
- Must have a valid drivers licences and experience operating Material Handling Equipment.
- Five years specialized ammunition-handling experience with 3-year supervisory experience.
- Knowledged of National Level Ammunition Capability (NLAC) system capabilities.
- Possess high ethical standards and demonstrate professionalism.
- Ability to work independently or in a team-based, highly collaborative environment.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills; ability to interact at all levels.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain Secret Clearence.
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be able to pass a detailed background investigation.
- Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Must be able to problem solve and perform research using related applicable regulations.
- Ability to brief ongoing plans and operations.
- Supervision of approximately 40 personnel.
- Computers, Fax machine, Copier, Printer and Phones. Personal computer systems, Microsoft Office Programs, any other pertinent software and general office equipment. Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required in certain areas. Steel Toe shoes is required. Use of Government Furnished vehicle. Must comply with all Fire and Safety Regulations and post policies.
- Work will typically be in a office environment. However, there will be requirements to work in a warehouse and outdoors environment.
- There may be times when an employee is exposed to extreme hot and cold weather conditions.
- A normal work week is 40 hours (5 days a week). Weekend work is required.
- Must be able to lift a maximum of 75 pounds unassisted.
- Must be able to operate in a prolonged standing environment, up to eight hours.
- Must be able to walk on uneven ground and climb stairs.
