GWA Architecture, Inc. is a dynamic and innovative design company. We have overseen countless design projects in our many years of hands-on experience with commercial T.I. and restaurant design. At GWA Architecture, we pride ourselves on our attention to the minute details of each design that makes each commercial T.I. and restaurant project successful. We are looking for an Architectural Drafter Associate to work with our team for the development of project specific details and the preparation and coordination of clear, concise drawings. (AutoCAD) software.

Responsibilities

• Prepare clear, complete, and accurate working plans and detail drawings from rough or detailed sketches or notes for Architect, Project Manager, or Job Captain, by using AutoCAD.
• Use AutoCAD to provide support by preparing routine layouts, detail drawings, schedules, and diagrams.
• Ongoing review and checking of the documents for accuracy and completeness.
• Identifies and verifies specifications by examining architectural documents, and performing calculations.
• Modifies drawings by studying changes; redrawing requirements; changing identifications.
• Resolves discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information; conferring with architect, project manager, or job captain.
• Enhances team and organization reputation by accepting new challenges and accomplishing different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to the firm.
• Assist in checking plan submittals and responding to requests for information.
• When needed, pick up/drop off plans & applications from local government agencies/utilities for plan submittals.

Skills/Requirements

• 3 years of architectural experience preferred.
• Hands-on experience with computer-aided design (AutoCAD) software
• Professional Degree in Architecture, or equivalent experience.
• Working knowledge of construction techniques and related coordinating details and dimensions.
• Understanding of all current code requirements.
• Have a reliable source of transportation to and from work.
