American Arborists is looking for an individual who is passionate about the outdoors and the field of arboriculture with the ambition and motivation to move through the ranks quickly. The position consists of all aspects of arboriculture operations throughout the Reno, Tahoe area. The applicant must be capable of lifting 50lbs, climbing, kneeling, and bending over.

Responsibilities:

• Arboriculture operations: climbing, operating equipment, job site cleanup, chipper and chainsaw operation.
• Participate in career progression: training program participation to advance skills and become proficient in every aspect of the industry.
• Obtain credentials: ISA certified arborist, pesticide applicator, First Aid and CPR.
• Technology: use multiple apps and programs on a daily basis.

Required Qualifications:

• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
• Physically capable of conducting arboriculture operations
• Knowledge and proper identification of trees & shrubs common to the Reno/Sparks area.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Google Calendar, and the ability to learn new software
• Ability to work well within a team
• Strong organizational skills
• Self-motivated and driven
• Friendly and helpful attitude
• Valid driver’s license
• Clean driving record
• Able to pass a background check, pre-employment physical and drug screen

Preferred Qualifications:

• ISA or other Arborist Certification
• Arboriculture/Tree service experience
• 4-year forestry/ horticulture degree or a 2-year technical degree with 2 years of experience within the field
• Nevada Pesticide Applicator's License

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
