PRIMARY SUMMARY
Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in the classroom and areas assigned. To support students in developing and achieving their full potential for academic growth, while providing an enriched learning environment.
GUEST TEACHER TRAINING WILL BE HELD ON APRIL 27TH, 8:00 AM - 1:00 PM.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma
Required Documents:
High School or College transcript - must be uploaded with the application.
A resume must be uploaded with the application.
If certified:
Texas Teaching Certificate must be uploaded with the application.
- (must be certified in Texas to be eligible for certified guest teacher pay)
RN License must be uploaded with the application.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
1. Knowledge of core academic subject assigned
2. General Knowledge of curriculum and student instruction
3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
4. Basic classroom and behavior management skills
REQUIREMENTS
1. Fingerprinting through TEA is required (applicant's expense)
2. All hired applicants will attend a Guest Teacher Training/Orientation
(If selected, an invitation will be sent via personal email)

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Maintain a positive learning environment and respond to the individual needs of the students.
Implement effective lessons in the absence of the regular Instructor.
Ensure district policies are observed during all activities.
Create a safe classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate based on the needs of the students
Keep all children in the classroom under supervision at all times.
Be familiar with fire exits, fire drill procedures, severe storms, and tornado warning procedures. Review notes for the day, take attendance, and follow the lesson plans of the teacher.
Maintain confidentiality as defined by the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
Demonstrate the ability to adapt to circumstances. Exhibit good judgment and use appropriate language or behavior while on assignment

Maintain a professional relationship with colleagues, students, parents, and community members.
- Work with other members of staff to determine instructional goals, objectives, and methods, when necessary in accordance with district requirements
- Use technology to strengthen and enrich the learning process
- Keep informed of and comply with state, district, and school regulations for classroom teachers.

Report for duty 30 minutes early and remain on duty for the entire assignment, including the planning time of the teacher.
- Must work a minimum of 1 (one) assignment a month or 4 (four) assignments a semester to remain an active Guest Teacher.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS
Abide by state statutes, school board policies, and regulations.
Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation.
- Leave detailed notes for the teacher on any issues experienced during the day.
