Prerequisites for Entry into an Apprenticeship Program

Associates of Applied Science (AAS) Degree Program as provided by Central New Mexico community College or Equivalent with an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater. Degrees could be in the following degree concentration: Metals Technology with a concentration in Machine Tool Technology, Electronics Technology or Electronic Engineering Technology or Manufacturing Technology with any concentration or equivalent work experience (minimum 4 years).

• Minimum of 5-8 years as a fully qualified Materials Processing Specialty Tradesperson or Completion of a State approved Materials Processing Specialty Apprentice Ship Program.
• Demonstrated ability to follow written work instructions.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct work in a safe manner.
• Demonstrated ability to successfully work in a team environment.
• Demonstrated ability to use computers.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a highly-integrated, small team.
• Experience with Mark Quality component production.
• Experience with process improvement.
• Experience with the use of computers to accomplish work tasks; experience with Oracle a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of personnel.
• Active Department of Energy "L" or "Q" clearance.
