APPLICATIONS ENGINEER/MANUFACTURING ENGINEER

Candidate must be well versed in multi-axis Swiss-style CNC lathe programming using industry-standard controls, machine set-ups, tooling selections, and fixturing. This is both a field and in-house position working with our customers and sales personnel. Top pay, benefits and company vehicle provided.

Essential Functions

· Work in conjunction with Sales Engineers, including making sales calls with them when requested, to make proper machine, tooling, and process recommendations to further our sales efforts.

· Work with suppliers and vendors to bring in the best software, tooling, and support equipment.

· Responsible for designated turnkey projects as well as field training of customers.

· Prepare time studies when requested by the end user, distributor, or sales personnel.

· Provide thorough training for our customers as well as provide tooling and process recommendations to our customers for optimum part processing efficiency.

· Familiar with CAD/CAM systems

· Familiar with Fanuc, Mitsubishi, and Siemens CNC controllers

· Some machine set-up and/or repair may be necessary as part of this position.

  • Ability to visualize a process or system from concept to development.

· Ability to follow up on projects and maintain good relations with our customers.

· Ability to travel approximately 65-70% of the time.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or similar discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Strong system design, hands-on and prototyping capabilities.
  • Technical competency in industrial automation/robotics (robots/controls/vision/conveyors/tooling etc.)
  • Previous robotics mechanical engineering experience – 3+ years preferred.
  • Highly versed in pneumatics, vacuum, servo, powertrain, conveyor design.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software applications – 3+ years preferred.
  • Proficient in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.) – 3+ years preferred.
  • Experience in design for manufacturability, cost effectiveness, and time reduction.
  • Solid organizational skills including detail-oriented personality and multitasking skills.
  • Travel and occasional overnight stays may be required.
  • Valid driver’s license and be insurable on company’s insurance policy.
