Summary Description: As a member of the Information Technology team, the Applications Analyst provides both technical and user software support for the University’s major information systems. The position works closely with the Director of Information Technology and the entire IT team to ensure that systems effectively meet the needs of the University. The environment is focused around the Ellucian (Datatel) Colleague integrated ERP system which supports student educational records, registration, financial aid processes, advancement, human resources, financial reporting, and payroll.
Additional associated technologies include MS SQL Server databases, MS SharePoint, and Business Objects Enterprise. These systems are hosted as VMware virtual machines in an environment that includes Microsoft Exchange email and Veeam backup systems.

Primary Job Duties:
Support the evolution of the institutional information systems through:
  • Assist the Executive Director of Information Technology in supporting the Ellucian Colleague ERP system.
  • Creating end user reports utilizing Crystal Reports and SQL queries.
  • Assisting in adapting processes and reporting to support new delivery modalities such as fully on-line programs.
  • Developing data extraction, translation, and loading processes to interface between systems.
  • Work with vendor sales and support staff to obtain assistance and to maximize the value of the software investment.
  • Respond to users’ software application help requests to resolve problems, develop modifications and provide training.
  • Create, monitor, and track Helpdesk tickets.
  • Develop technical, operational, and user documentation.
  • Work closely with the Executive Director of IT to:
    • Evaluate business and academic needs.
    • Recommend and deploy appropriate system solutions, customizations and reports.
    • Assist in evaluation of new software and new features and recommend appropriate strategies for their adoption.
    • Plan and manage projects to implement new applications or software features.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
  • Must have prior experience with Ellucian Colleague.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a computer related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate with all levels of the organization including management and operational staff, faculty, and students with strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience working with the following:
    • Microsoft AD/SharePoint/Flow
    • Crystal Reports
    • Axiom
  • Ability to solve problems creatively, efficiently and effectively.
  • Ability to independently initiate and implement projects and prioritize and balance multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work effectively as a contributing member of a high-performance service team.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in planning and managing Technology projects.
Work Environment:
The position is a hybrid, remote or WPU office environment.
