About the Role:

Prevail is looking for Application Programming Interface (API) Developer. We are looking for developers who strive to find the right balance of code quality and getting the work done. You need to be self-sufficient, strong at communicating your thoughts, and willing to express your ideas for the betterment of the platform. We are an agile team that works in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience with Ruby on Rails.
  • Experience with Sinatra.
  • Experience with API testing tools such as Postman.
  • Able to build, test and debug API’s.
  • Document API Endpoints, flows and functionality
  • Working knowledge of XML, JSON, REST, SOAP, Ruby script and relational databases.
  • The ability to use Postman tools to complete unit testing.
  • Experience with API security policies, OAuth and JWT.
  • Assist in developing user documentation, specifications, and departmental policies and procedures that impact the use of APIs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field
  • 2+ years of experience administering and developing customization of platforms, or other directly related experience. A combination of education and experience may meet requirements; the successful candidate will have an ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing requirements and circumstances.
  • Experience with development of APIs / Interfaces on Ruby on Rails platforms. Works closely with the API Solutions Architect and ACE development and support staff, as a major contributor to the success of the system.
  • Solid grasp of API capabilities. Experience with Containers and DevOps is a plus.
  • Very comfortable with working in Linux environment and scripting. Knowledge of relational databases, familiarity with git, and Azure DevOps preferred.
  • Requires strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
