Position:* Manager of Inside Sales/Application Engineering

*
Purpose:* Applied Control is seeking a full-time Manager of Inside Sales/Application Engineering to work out of our Bothell, WA office. Applied Control Equipment is an Emerson Impact Partner that specializes in final control solutions for the process control industries in Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, Western Nebraska, Western South Dakota, Utah, Idaho, Montana, Washington, and Alaska. Working together with Emerson Automation Solutions, we can provide the highest quality products, services, and solutions to our customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver technical solutions to customers for their process control needs
  • Execute Applied Control Equipment's overall business strategy and initiatives through interactions at various levels with customers and vendors
  • Provide internal sales and technical support to account managers and outside sales specialists
  • Understand and effectively communicate customer needs and business issues to colleagues, positioning Applied Control Equipment as our customers’ trusted advisor
  • Develop an unmatched level of expertise in the application of all our final control element products and solutions offered, and deliver quality solutions and services to our many customers and industries
  • Supports profitable growth of final control business to meet our financial goals through proper management and guidance of an inside sales team.
  • Manages a team who solves problems, manages projects, quotes work, interacts with internal and external customers, manages order to delivery of product processes and margin gained on sales.
  • Develops new programs to support customer needs and drive business growth
  • Contributes to relationship management with key suppliers and Emerson. Responsible for delivering reports to support the business and meet Emerson requirements
  • Ensures Growth Review Initiatives are being supported by the group
  • Assesses staffing level requirements, supports recruiting and interview process, and coordinates training plans. May participate in Job Fairs.
  • Develops people through regular cadence process and development plans. Provides active feedback and coaching. Manages solution selling activities.
  • Collaborates with operations, services, and outside sales teams to create alignment and productivity.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Capable of understanding technical concepts and products.
  • Must have a four-year college degree (in Engineering - Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical preferred)
  • Strong technical background
  • Experience in the instrumentation / process control / pulp & paper/ metals / mining and / or semiconductors.
  • Highly effective at building long term relationships
  • Use of MS Office products and other industry related software tools such as sizing, application, and quotation tools
  • Able to strategically position conversations with customers to sell products and services using Solution Selling Strategies.
  • Requires the ability to read and understand process and instrumentation drawings (P&ID’s) and conform customer instrumentation and final control specification sheets into properly applied products
  • Able to identify and act in solving problems while exhibiting judgment and realistic understanding of issues: able to use reason and logic
  • Able to maintain a mature problem-solving attitude while dealing with conflict
  • Able to clearly present information through verbal communication; influence or persuade others through oral presentation in positive or negative circumstances; demonstrates good listening skills.
  • Able to organize or schedule people, tasks, or services; to develop realistic action plans while being sensitive to time constraints and resource availability.
  • Continuously serves as a cultural role model with the highest of integrity and ethics when interacting with others internally and external to the organization.

Working Conditions:*
Includes working primarily in an office setting, with occasional assignments outside the office. This position may require some travel.
This individual in this role must be able to commute to Bothell, WA.

Compensation:

*
Base Wage Range*: $85,000 - 115,000 annual salary. Prior work or industry experience as well as job-related education and unique skills will be taken into consideration when setting the wage rate.
Other Variable Compensation: Eligible for an annual profit share award based on individual and company performance.
