Job Description Summary

SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Sales & Marketing Manager – Heating, act as liaison between the customer and the Company on technical matters regarding product application, sales installation and service which requires analyzing customers’ needs, preparing specifications, cost estimate proposals and presentations to customers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.

1. Analyze the customer application. Organize, coordinate and participate in the development of the engineering data required to apply the company products to the customers’ requirements.

2. Work closely and in conjunction with the field sales engineering personnel and potential customers to define their application, design system to meet their needs, and present quotation to the customer.

3. Provide material handling concept data to vendors for quotation purposes.

4. Conduct on-site visits and collect data to gain relevant quotation and installation data.

5. Calculate in depth analysis sheets on costing, production, power consumption, etc. of Pillar equipment or customers’ existing equipment.

6. Prepare, construct and write quotations for submittal to customers.

7. Prepare presentations for customers on-site and off-site.

8. Work closely with engineering department in final design and analysis of Pillar equipment once it becomes an order.

9. Monitor progress of orders and provide feedback to customers.

10. Participate in trade shows.

11. Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations. Maintain departmental housekeeping standards.

Education and/or Experience

Requires a minimum of an Associates degree or Bachelor’s degree in a mechanical/electrical engineering discipline or equivalent related experience. Strong analytical, communication, presentation, problem solving and technical writing skills required. Computer literate in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, ACT, Access and Project. Previous experience using 3D Modeling Software (Autodesk Inventor a plus). AutoCAD Release 12 or higher.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze and interpret schematics, business documents and statistical reports. Ability to prepare written quotes. Ability to effectively communicate with and present information and respond to questions from managers, customers and other employees in the Company.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts for preparing quotations including proportions and percentages. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions of customer requirements. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee must be able to occasionally travel domestically and internationally to support corporate initiatives. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

The employee works in an office environment where the noise level is quiet to moderate. Occasional trips to manufacturing areas on site or to customer locations will be required. The noise level in the manufacturing environment is usually moderate to loud.
