Adecco is working with a local company in Port Washington, WI to find an Analytical Lab Supervisor. This is a direct-hire, full-time, onsite role. The Analytical Lab Supervisor will provide day-to-day leadership and work direction to the analytical laboratory staff in the testing and release of raw materials, in-process batches, and finished goods or bulk samples while ensuring cGMP compliance and adherence to all applicable KTP safety and quality policies.
Sign-on Bonus Details:
$500 paid at 60 days, $1000 at 6 months. Must be in good standing to qualify. Bonus will be paid on the next full pay period once the milestone has been reached.

Essential Functions of the Analytical Chemist:
  • Establishes analyst schedules and prioritizes workload coming into the analytical laboratory in order to meet both external and internal customer needs.
  • Ensures all analysts are properly trained and qualified on relevant KTP, customer, and compendia test methods and procedures before use and that training is properly documented for each analyst.
  • Perform analysis on lab samples.
  • Performs hands-on troubleshooting of instrumentation/analyses.
  • Provides regular performance feedback and coaching to all analytical staff members; recommends appropriate internal and external training; and conducts annual performance evaluations according to KTP policies and procedures.
  • Analyzes laboratory operations and applies LEAN and Continuous Improvement techniques to drive efficiencies leading to either cost savings or reduced turn times for laboratory testing.
  • Ensures laboratory instrumentation is properly maintained and always within calibration.
  • Laboratory housekeeping is continuously maintained in a tour and audit-ready status.
  • Regularly reviews and tracks analytical results to identify trends that could indicate either a manufacturing or laboratory control issue.
  • Oversees the acquisition, storage, and disposal of raw material, bulk, and finished product reference standards per KTP and customer requirements.
  • Serves as a back-up to the KTP Sensory Panel Coordinator for sensory evaluation of raw materials, bulk, and finished product.
  • Serves as a participant or lead investigator in out-of-specification investigations related to the laboratory.
  • Lead analytical project-related functions such as: instrument troubleshooting, problem-solving, method development, method transfer, instrument acquisition and qualification, and long-range planning.
  • Ensures that current customer specifications and revisions are used for all testing and that all analytical result reports used in the lab match current customer specifications and are issued as controlled documents through Document Control.

Requirements:
  • Requires a bachelor’s degree with a strong emphasis in natural science, preferably Chemistry. A Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Prior experience (5 years) working in a cGMP-compliant industrial analytical laboratory.
  • Requires the ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, business documents, legal documents, and governmental regulations. Also, the ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers and/or regulatory agencies.
  • Must have excellent communication skills (written and verbal) to write reports and findings and present them to team members and all levels of management in a clear and concise manner.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to lead a team to a successful project conclusion.
  • Requires the ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, and sampling theory.
  • Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Can define the problem, collect data, establish facts, and reach a valid conclusion. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in oral, written, mathematical or diagram form.
  • Demonstrated excellence in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint), experience with Google Suite and statistical analysis software.
  • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion with information.
