The Analyst, Marketing Analytics, collaborates with the team to analyze the performance of marketing efforts across MGM’s database and direct marketing in support of acquisition, retention and reactivation of marketing campaigns with a focus on competitive market analytics, engagement trends, booking behaviors, campaign effectiveness, and more for MGM Resorts’ portfolio. The Analyst will provide actionable insights and recommendations to maximize offer/campaign profitability, share of wallet, customer retention and loyalty, and revenue opportunities to drive business performance. This individual will support a world-class Marketing Analytics team and help define its required technology and toolset. As part of our team, you’ll work with professionals at our portfolio of casino resorts across North America – as well as those in the corporate executive level – to implement analytics initiatives that move the business forward. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and MGM Resorts policies, practices and procedures.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Analyzes complex data sets and extracts key insights using various economic, financial, customer, and marketing methodologies
  • Synthesizes data, insights, and consumer research to create presentations that make fact-based recommendations
  • Collaborates with the Marketing Analytics team to communicate recommended approaches to senior leaders, and anticipate the future needs of our customers
  • Builds event proformas and conducts post-analysis for casino events, promotions, and shows
  • Performs ongoing analysis of segment and offer performance
  • Prepares for and participates in monthly marketing reviews with property and Marketing COE teams
  • Visits properties regularly and participates in marketing strategy meetings
  • Identifies business requirements and collaborates with the Enterprise Reporting team in the pass-off of requirements for execution and BI / IT development
  • Develops analytics capabilities across aligned functional areas and properties
  • Reviews findings with and makes recommendations to the EA leadership and business partners
  • Balances new insight against current projects and continually seeks innovation through ongoing networking and research efforts

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent experience.
  • At least (1) one year of experience in Marketing with experience in driving business performance through operational insights and analytics

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • Gaming license(s) in applicable jurisdictions
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Understanding of traffic drivers, data visualization, problem solving, preferred HTML or JavaScript, and adaptation skills to work with various web and channel management tools
  • Ability to anticipate situations, tools needed, and obstacles through critical thinking and review of business performance
  • Ability to listen effectively, process information, ask appropriate questions for clarification and execute tasks accordingly
  • Ability to work in a high-stress, fast-paced environment managing multiple projects and personnel simultaneously. Must possess ability to prioritize conflicting duties and maintain timeline integrity for projects and tasks
  • Must possess excellent communication skills and demonstrate ability to resolve all situations in a professional manner
  • Ability to appropriately manage confidential departmental and corporate information
  • Must have excellent written, verbal and public presentation communication skills
  • Must have initiative and strive for continuous improvement. Proven ability to participate in implementing innovative ideas, projects and business solutions
  • Clear understanding of change management preferred. This should include participating in the development or implementation of solutions which require comprehensive shifts in operational practices
  • Ability to gather process information and make recommendations and decisions based on data and findings
  • Ability to produce high quality work products, with consistency, accuracy and completeness
  • Ability to self-manage while consistently exercising good judgment and maturity
  • Maintain a professional, neat and well-groomed appearance, adhering to MGM Resorts International standards
  • Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays where needed
  • Excellent customer service skills
