As an Ambulance Transportation Specialist (ATS) you will work with a licensed EMT to provide care and support while transporting patients to hospitals, medical appointments, rehabilitation centers, and other destinations. The ATS position can be a great steppingstone towards a career in EMS or other medical/public service fields. If hired for Action’s ATS position, you may be qualified for free training all the way up to Paramedic Level.
General Function: Emergency Transportation Specialist provides transportation for patients and customers to and from various locations according to the Statewide Treatment Protocols.

Major Responsibilities:
- Safely operate an ambulance in accordance with all state and local motor vehicle laws, as well as those established by OEMS and Action Ambulance Service.
- Respond to medical emergencies or other incidents according to Action Ambulance Service Policies
- Maintain and inspect all pertinent equipment; including, but not limited to, vehicles, mobile and portable radios, stretchers, stair chairs, oxygen, AED and other BLS level equipment.
- Submission of appropriate daily checklists
- Maintains sanitary environment of crew quarters and assigned vehicles
- Cleans all equipment following appropriate disinfecting procedures
- Ensures that the ambulance is clean, washed and kept in a neat orderly condition in accordance with local, state or federal regulations.
- Provides communications to various communications centers and notifies receiving facilities when appropriate.
- Attends refresher and continuing education as required.
- Assist patients from facility or home to vehicle
- Complete all necessary paperwork for patient care transportation
Qualifications:
- CPR certification
- State issued driver's license
- First responder certification (we will provide)
- Must have the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing in English
- Must have knowledge of the service area and be able to accurately read a map and/or follow GPS instructions
Physical Requirements:
- Lifting the stretcher (be able to lift and carry 125 pounds)
- Being able to stand or sit for an extended amount of time
