Generations at Elmwood Park in Elmwood Park, IL, seeks an Alzheimer’s Unit Director. This is a Full Time, Salaried Position with aSalary Range of $55k- $60k, depending upon Experience. The Unit Director will Work Closely with the Team to create an Optimal Environment for our Residents.

Responsibilities of the Alzheimer’s Unit Coordinator:

• 
  Direct floor staff with regard to written policies and procedures to support unit population
• Provide facility wide Alzheimer disease education
• Meet with families
• Follow up on residents hospitalized more than 48 hours
• Manage running of the unit daily, including staffing, programming and resident care
• Ensure a therapeutic environment that maintains each resident’s highest level of physical, social and physiological well-being

of the Alzheimer's Unit Coordinator:

• College Degree, preferably in social sciences or nursing
• Knowledge of Alzheimer’s Disease and related disorders preferred
• Experience with assessments and care planning
• Must be able to facilitate meetings with staff, residents and families
• Knowledge of MDS
• Social Services experience
• Excellent relationship building and communication skills
