The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
Position Summary
Reporting to the Director of Alumni Relations, the Alumni Relations Coordinator supports the Alumni Relations team through the coordination of student and alumni programming for the School of General Studies, as well as through operational support across all team initiatives.
The Alumni Relations Coordinator will work closely with the Student Life Office to share goals and execute programming for student and alumni engagement. Responsibilities include but are not limited to, ensuring the successful planning and execution of New Student Orientation, Class Day, and Senior Fund. Additional programming may include professional panels, mentor programs, internship opportunities, and affinity group events.
The incumbent assists with special projects and serves as a point of contact within the Alumni Affairs team for current students and alumni through phone and email correspondence and through the creation and delivery of social media content. Also responsible for database management, tracking event attendance, maintaining alumni contact information, and pulling reports as needed.
Responsibilities
In partnership with the Student Life Office, oversees traditional events such as Class Day and New Student Orientation by participating in the planning, logistics, and alumni outreach and engagement.
Markets and engages students around the senior class gift working alongside the Leadership Gift Officer.
Collaborates with the Assistant Director of Alumni Relations on alumni-student programming, to build a base of student volunteers to transition into alumni leaders . Assists in identifying alumni for student programming needs.
Maintains event and program reporting, data collection, and metric analysis for all alumni relations activity. Ensures data integrity by accurately updating the database with event attendance and alumni contact information. Develops systems to accurately and efficiently generate highly sensitive reports. Uses reporting tools to identify trends, and measure performance.
Oversees organizational needs required for special events, including Maintains and manages guest lists, vendor contracts and payments, email correspondences, and event collateral, including but not limited to, signage and décor.
Assist with special projects and performs other duties as assigned or requested.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent related experience and a minimum of 2-4 years related experience required.
Strong event planning and organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
Strong oral and written communication skills required.
Understanding of working in a complex academic environment highly desirable.
Excellent interpersonal skills, tact, and diplomacy, sensitivity and mature judgement are essential.
Confidentiality and discretion are required.
Must be professional, organized, creative and efficient and able to work successfully as part of a team.
