LOCATION: Wayland Baptist University (WBU) – San Antonio Live Oak Campus

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: The Admissions & Enrollment Manager supervises all enrollment coaches and serves as the enrollment management strategist to empower, equip and enable the workforce to tactically implement enrollment growth for the San Antonio campus. represents Wayland to prospective students and organizations and works to convert prospective students into enrolled students. The successful manager exhibits superior customer service and communication skills as well as professionalism throughout daily interactions and communications with staff and prospective students including phone calls, emails, text messages, campus tours and events, and information sessions held both virtually and in-person.

SPECIFIC TASKS AND DUTIES:

  • At all times conducts him/herself with integrity and honesty and in a manner consistent with the mission of the university
  • Develops, coordinates, and executes the annual strategic recruiting plan with a focuses on the San Antonio recruiting market (150-mile radius)
  • Leads the admissions team and the enrollment process and sets and assess goals for the Admissions Office
  • Collaborates with, trains and empowers Enrollment Coaches to effectively recruit and understand and work the admissions process for the university
  • Works to convert applicants to the San Antonio campus into enrolled students by build relationship and supporting students in submitting required documentation for admittance
  • Processes transcripts, financial aid & scholarship paperwork, registers/withdraws students, generates, maintains and distributes transcripts and letters of verification as well as other paperwork and/or processes within the enrollment services units.
  • Assists home offices with processing and refining processes as needed
  • Travels occasionally throughout the market area conducting and/or hosting employee education, high school, community college, and partnership fairs/visits and other activities intended to drive student engagement.
  • Schedules and performs campus tours of the campus to prospective students, parents, and faculty
  • Attends and assists in the implementation of preview events and early registration events
  • Assists parents and students with enrollment-related issues as appropriate
  • Supervises/completes recruitment projects as assigned by the supervisor
  • Makes recruitment presentations to both groups and individuals on and off campus
  • Responsible for counseling, problem-solving and providing accurate information regarding admission requirements, financial aid programs, scholarship eligibility, student life, and other aspects of Wayland to prospective students and their families.
  • Effectively communicates with a wide array of university constituencies including current students, prospective students, parents of both current and prospective students, alumni, trustees, and other university departments
  • Stays current on recruiting trends and efforts including maintaining a high level of working knowledge of university information, organization, opportunities and policies

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree is required.
  • Graduate Degree preferred.

Experience and Knowledge:

  • Experience in higher education with a focus in admissions work is preferred.
  • Experience supervising employees
  • Experience recruiting and admitting students in an academic setting preferred.
  • Experience in a customer service setting required.
  • Knowledge of resources needed to recruit and admit students to university.
  • An in-depth understanding of, and commitment to, the “team” and “servant leadership” concepts.
  • Knowledge of principles, methods, and procedures for academic and career advising and guidance.
  • Knowledge of vision/mission of WBU; academic degree plans and requirements; steps to enroll; financial aid; and business of procedures.

Skills and Abilities:

  • A commitment to Christian higher education in agreement with the purposes and philosophy promoted by the Baptist General Convention of Texas and Wayland Baptist University
  • Punctuality, dependability, integrity, honesty and loyalty
  • Ability to present a positive attitude toward other office personnel, students and their families, and faculty and staff members
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Outstanding planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills as well as meticulous attention to detail

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Employment is subject to an introductory period to monitor employee performance. If hired, the prospective employee must present documentation within three (3) days of hire date to establish identity and employment eligibility as required by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Employee must be able and willing to travel and provide recruitment assistance to external campuses. Must be able to operate a licensed motor vehicle, have access to a dependable motor vehicle, and possess a valid state driver’s license. Must have and maintain a satisfactory driver’s record.
