Performs a wide range of technical duties, supporting all facility needs in Extended Learning, and at the Corvallis Campus as well as supporting student enrollment and registration processes. Delivers student, faculty and staff support, providing excellent customer service and displaying exceptional problem-solving skills.
Required Qualifications:
This position is security-sensitive and must have the ability to pass a background check prior to start date.

Education and Experience: Position requires a high school diploma and one year of related experience, or equivalent. An AA/AS degree in education, business, or a related field is preferred.
Licenses and Certificates: Requires a current food handler’s license from Benton County or the ability to obtain one upon hire.

Knowledge and Skills: Requires personal computer, word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications skills. Requires strong record keeping and documentation skills. Requires good English, grammar and math skills. Requires good organizational, planning, prioritizing, communications, customer relations, and phone skills.
Abilities: Must be able to independently perform the duties of the position efficiently and effectively. Must be able to perform arithmetic operations accurately. Requires the ability to operate general office equipment including computers, word processing, and database applications used at the college. Must be able to prioritize and organize tasks in order to meet schedules and timelines. Must be able to use judgment and discretion in determining tools, procedures, and sequence of operations. Requires the ability to communicate with peers and with staff or public in a manner which reflects positively on the department and the college. Must be able to work respectfully and effectively with individuals of all cultures, backgrounds, perspectives, and abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of operations, policies and procedures of Corvallis Campus and of the college is preferred. Knowledge of Banner preferred. Knowledge of general facilities, safety and office practices are preferred.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Position involves light to medium work involved in setting up rooms, including climbing, stooping, kneeling and carrying and lifting of lightweight materials (10 – 20 pounds). Requires the ability to operate a computer, and other office equipment. Must be able to communicate effectively with others.
Work is normally performed in an office setting with little or no exposure to health and safety hazards. Substantial time is spent working at a computer.
Essential Duties:
  • Provides a welcoming and friendly environment that focuses on positive interactions. Works directly with LBCC staff and faculty to ensure the academic needs of incoming students are met. Maintains a friendly, empathetic and encouraging demeanor in order to assist new students to navigate the registration process.
  • Works with the Community Education Coordinators and the Department Administrative Assistant to conduct all third-party facilities invoicing and payments, which includes being in communication with the third-party facilities about payments made and received.
  • Collaborates with the Corvallis Campus Coordinator ensuring that the Corvallis Campus facilities needs are met, which include, yet are not limited to; entering maintenance requests, furniture moves, supply organization and overall building readiness for students and staff.
  • Participates in the college-wide safety committee. Assists with employee safety training, accident protocols, hazard communications, and bloodborne pathogens reporting.
  • Works with the Corvallis Campus Coordinator to make sure all safety and security protocols are being followed at the Corvallis Campus, and all third-party facilities.
  • Plans events with the Ceramics Studio faculty and instructional assistants, such as pottery sales, and works to enhance the student experience ensuring that the Corvallis Campus Coordinator is aware of issues as they arise.
  • Oversees the planning and facilitation of key requests and acquisitions for the Corvallis Campus.
  • Provides student support for Extended Learning, and the Corvallis Campus as is needed, which includes yet is not limited to registering students for classes and helping them register, find their class, access campus resources, such as tech support, accessibilities resources, library resources, etc.
  • Provides support for Extended Learning and the Corvallis Campus faculty as needed, which includes yet is not limited to helping faculty find their classrooms, obtain keys to classes, and connect them with campus support resources, such as media services, and IT assistance.
  • Completes the banking process as needed on a day-to-day basis, which includes collecting and reconciling funds/cash, and depositing these funds at the local bank.
  • Provides support to the Director, Department Administrative Assistant, and the Corvallis Campus Coordinator as is needed.
  • Supports students by solving problems and challenges around rules, regulations, and barriers.
  • Supports public and staff events at the Corvallis Campus. Assists other College staff and renters with events and meetings they have planned. Assures that all food preparation and food service on the property is following Benton County health regulations. Maintains the kitchens as safe and convenient environments for food preparation and serving.
  • Provides customer service and instructional support in the Administrative office. In the absence of the Corvallis Campus Coordinator, and Administrative Assistant works with the Director to schedule Administrative staff and coordinate work assignments. Checks buildings for facility issues. Reports any problems via the College’s Facility work order system. Assists Campus Coordinator, Administrative Assistant or Director to immediately resolve any serious issues. Acts as a Building Emergency Coordinator (BEC).
  • Maintains office equipment, monitors copy machines. Orders paper and reports problems.
  • Participates with other staff in developing and implementing better and more efficient office processes that improve customer service. Participates in college and campus committees and task forces and attends relevant meetings as is deemed necessary by the Director.
