Title of position: NHSC Administrative Program Coordinator

Reports to: Dean of the New Hope School of Counseling

Salary: $40,000

Hours worked per week: 35

Rincon Family Services (RFS) is a not-for-profit community organization, established in 1972 to combat the epidemic of heroin and violence that were dismantling communities throughout Chicago. RFS is dedicated to rendering compassionate and effective programs that promote improved quality of life by serving as a catalyst to advocate, educate, and empower individuals and their families.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The NHSC Administrative Program Coordinator will:

  • Facilitate the training schedule with Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) instructors
  • Coordinate the support and resources provided by our community partners (ASPIRA, PRAA and DDBHC)
  • Reporting and tracking training instructors schedule for MHFA, NHSC counseling programs, Think Trauma, and other professional trainings provided by Rincon Family Services
  • Ensure staff follow the designated schedule for training.
  • Ensure that the instructors have the necessary supplies to provide training monthly
  • Coordinate, track, and follow up with trainees and students
  • Serve as point of contact with our Mental Health Ambassadors and community leaders
  • Facilitate the spread of mental health awareness through activities and promotions via social media and in-person events
  • Coordinate and create student handbook for New Hope School of Counseling (NHSC) certification programs
  • Creation of resources for students, community members and staff
  • Maintaining records of resources and handouts provided
  • Maintain NHSC student charts
  • Assist with intake process for new NHSC students
  • Monitor the flow of classes and students and assign instructors to specific groups for training.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Works collaboratively with fellow peers and others to achieve identified goals and objectives.
  • Able to work independently without direction, but also has initiative to work collaboratively.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to coordinate and organize meetings, take notes, summarize outcomes of meetings and share with larger group.
  • Prepare summary presentations on program outcomes to Project Director
  • Proven experience as program coordinator or relevant position
  • Knowledge of program management and development procedures
  • Tech savvy, proficient in MS Office
  • Ability to work with diversity and multi-disciplinary teams and youth from target population
  • Excellent time-management and organizational skills
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented and efficient
  • Flexible
  • Local travel around the City of Chicago and may require some travel to Kankakee, IL

Qualifications for position:

  • Associates degree in Human Services (experience as a Program Coordinator or Program Administrator) must be able to provide sealed transcripts.
