The Gilbert Residence, a stand-alone non-profit senior living community located in the Historic District of Ypsilanti Michigan, is looking for an Administrative Director of Nursing Services. The Administrative Director of Nursing Services (ADNS) is responsible for the overall organizational direction and management of the nursing services in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern our facility. The ADNS may be directed by the CEO and the Medical Director, to ensure the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times for our residents.

Essential Functions:

  • Develops and promotes the philosophy, objectives, and standards of nursing services.
  • Develops, reviews, and as necessary revises nursing policies and procedures
  • Develops and promotes organizational structure for nursing services.
  • Identifies nursing services needs and develops plans according to needs
  • Determines and advocates for staffing levels for the nursing/direct care that promote high quality nursing services
  • Assures adequate nursing/direct care staff is provided to meet resident care needs.
  • Recruits and hires appropriate nursing/direct care personnel.
  • Assures competency of nursing/direct care employees.
  • Oversees operations of the nursing services
  • Plans, negotiates, monitors, and controls the budget for nursing services
  • Communicates and collaborates with other departments.
  • Assures the nursing/direct care staff comply with the facility's policies and procedures.
  • Participates in administrative planning, monitoring, and evaluation efforts for the entire facility.
  • Assures the facility's compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Assists and participates in surveys conducted by regulatory and accrediting agencies.
  • Participates in the QAPI program
  • Makes written and oral reports to the administrator and governing body regarding operation, plans, and needs of the facility.
  • Serves and participates on committees affecting the overall operation of the facility
  • Adheres to professional codes of ethics.

Qualifications:

  • Current RN license in MI
  • Minimum 5 years nursing experience
  • Minimum 3 years' long term care experience
  • Three years managerial experience preferred
  • Certification by the National Association of Directors of Nursing Administration in Long-Term Care preferable
