Responsibilities
Join an incredible team of dedicated professionals who support medical interns and residents as they transform from medical students to board certified doctors. This position functions to autonomously support critical functions of the Graduate Medical Education department, including contracts administration, financial operational accounting, budget design and stewardship, as well as database design and document management.
Exercise your creative abilities designing newsletters, social media postings, and web design and maintenance.
This position will be working onsite at our Virginia Mason Medical Center in Downtown, Seattle.
- Prepares, creates, proofreads, edits content and format of documents and presentation materials using broadbased software utilization skills. Composes, signs and releases correspondence.
- Coordinates events, meetings, travel and/or conference schedules, making arrangements as necessary. Prepares meeting materials. Resolves conflicting demands.
- Screens, directs and responds to incoming calls and inquiries. Interprets departmental policies and procedures.
- Compiles, gathers and maintains data for department specific databases. Generates and distributes reports.
- Reconciles expenditures, ensures payment of accounts and updates budget information.
- Coordinates or provides assistance for department specific projects.
- Prioritizes, distributes and/or takes action on mail; may also process timecards.
Qualifications
- This position requires a minimum of 3 years directly related work experience.
- Demonstrated initiative and independent judgment in non-routine matters.
- Demonstrated advanced level of proficiency with MS Office.
- Excellent verbal, written (grammar) and time management skills.
- Will need to have the ability to delegate task and work independently while being self motivating.
- Experience resolving conflict is also required.
- Specific experience in department and medical terminology may also be required. Advanced secretarial courses preferred.
