QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Some College coursework or experience preferred
- Previous experience in Nonprofit/fundraising environment preferred
- Experience and understanding of full spectrum of development preferred including: Planned Giving, Major Gifts, Direct Mail, Donor Relations and Public Relations
- Extensive skills in multi-tasking, project planning / reporting and small event execution
- Capable of working as a collaborative member of a highly flexible team
- Ability to efficiently respond to donor and administrative needs
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
- Administrative experience and knowledge of office procedures
- Extensive knowledge of MS Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, & Publisher
- Experience of or capacity to quickly learn donor and event software
- Highly capable and functional with moderate supervision
- Ability to provide service excellence to donor and community partners to further department objectives
- Ability to pass a criminal background check
- Valid Arizona driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Ability to pass The Salvation Army’s fleet safety e-learning module
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide administrative support to Divisional Community Relations Director and limited support to Regional Development Director of NM (remote), Public Relations Director and Corporate Engagement Manager
- Develop effective written correspondence designed to meet the specialized needs of the department
- Expedite requests and inquiries from callers, visitor, donors, staff, board members and volunteers in an effective and professional manner
- Assist assigned staff with donor reporting, gift tracing, researching and acknowledgements
- Administration of Divisional Donor thank you letter process
- Generate Divisional Directors donor, staff, and board acknowledgements and engagements
- Assist in the handling, preparation and distribution of development materials
- Assist staff in preparing for and organizing department meeting and events (internal)
- Assist in the administration and execution of special events (external) assigned
- Maintain confidential files and records
- Assists with department administrative needs
- Serve as a cross trained resource in other areas of development
- Provide support and assistance in other special projects and events as initiated by supervisor
- Other duties as assigned as they relate to the position of Administrative Assistant to the DCRD

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must have the ability to operate telephone, a desktop or laptop computer, as well as the ability to access and produce information from a computer, and to understand written information.
