Job Description:

PURPOSE OF JOB:
To coordinate, develop and facilitate nursing orientation and educational programming for all Associates in Acute Care.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
-
Uses the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, coordinate, and evaluate orientation and educational programs for Acute Care.
-
Demonstrates knowledge of nursing practice guidelines and equipment. Facilitates
educational programs to assure compliance with hospital standards and the Nurse Practice Act as well as regulatory standards and evidence-based practice.

Communicates in a variety of settings with nursing Associates, patients, physicians, family members, and other members of the healthcare team to achieve excellence in patient care.

Utilizes analytical skills to creatively develop and revise orientation and education programs for Acute Care.

Demonstrates clinical proficiency and maintains knowledge base of hospital policies in order to serve as a clinical resource and mentor to the staff.
Job Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: BSN required, MSN preferred, professional certification in area of specialty preferred

Experience: Three years' clinical experience

Other Skills: Teaching experience
ACLS instructor
CPR instructor
Computer skills with Microsoft Products
