This is an exciting opportunity to join this growing team and immediately make an impact to the overall success of the company. We currently have an opening for a full time, Actuarial/Statistical Claims Specialist to join our team. The main purpose for this role is to provide actuarial/statistical claim and related service to individual clients and on the safety group level.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Reviews and analyzes insured’s experience modifications.
- Reviews individual claims and premium audit policy data.
- Requests revisions from state fund actuarial department and/or NYCIRB, etc.
- Requests and reviews rating board file histories.
- Works on rating dates and split periods.
- Follows up with SIF and RB for mod revisions and mod issuance.
- Analyses experience mod rules as they relate to specific insureds (eligibility/ownership issues, etc.) .
- Follows up on rebills for revised mods with SIF underwriting and KSW personnel (as needed) .
- Works on interstate modifications (as needed).
- Handles experience modification ratings issues
Assists group accounting:
- Reviews claims for specific safety group accountings.
- Assists in the negotiation of reserves with SIF claims department.
- Insures that group reserve claim revisions are also reflected in insured’s experience modification.

Education and/or Experience:
- BS or BA degree is required
- Minimum 5 years Worker's Compensation, Claims or related experience, required
- Agency Management experience or previous systems experience preferred
Technology Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Other Duties & Qualifications:
- Interfaces with SIF actuarial department.
- Reviews insured’s individual claims on a select basis.
- Prepares written reports to insureds.
- Provides back-up to other KSW claims personnel with respect to specific claim management
