Activity Assistants

Full Time Day

$13.78 - $14.64 per hour

Tel Hai has a wonderful opportunity to join our Activities team in meeting the social and recreational needs of our Residents. Full Time Activity Assistant positions available in both our Personal Care and our Health Care Center.

Activity Assistant Qualifications:

• 
  Must be at least 18 years of age and have a High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to speak/lead activities of large groups.
• Previous experience in a geriatric setting is preferred.
  
• Previous experience with individuals that have cognitive deficits (such as Alzheimer's) is preferred.
• Music, art, fitness, educational, or activity experience preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred (or must be willing to get with our assistance) (Personal Care position only)

Meadows Health Care Center Activity Assistant Responsibilities Include:

• Develops activities and plans & implements a daily schedule of programs and activities for residents.
• Conducts one on one visits and small group activities.
• Assists residents to and from meals and activities.
• Develops and maintains appropriate supportive relationships with residents, families, and co-workers.
• Assists at mealtime with feeding residents.

Personal Care Activity Assistant responsibilities include:

• Helps meet the social and recreational needs of the residents by leading activities such as games, bingo, book club, light exercise, etc.
• Provides activities for physical, intellectual, social, emotional, spiritual, and vocational wellness to maintain health.
• Plans country rides and bust trips to local spots (stores, restaurants, ice cream shops, parks, etc.)
• Helps in the planning of the monthly calendar of activities.
• Assists with care for department pets as needed.

Vaccination Statement: Tel Hai Retirement Community requires all employees to receive their annual flu shot and be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, unless he/she has an approved medical or religious exemption. Upon hire, an employee must have their flu shot and their first dose of a two-dose series COVID-19 vaccination. Their second dose must be received within 6 weeks of hire.
