Royal Health Group is looking for a motivated, passionate Activities Director to join their team in Middletown!
IMPORTANT: The State of Rhode Island has mandated that all active employees working in Skilled Nursing Facilities in the state must have the COVID-19 Vaccine. If you are unvaccinated, we offer on-site vaccinations at our facilities. (Some employees may be exempt from this mandate.)

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plan, organize, develop, and direct the overall operations of the Activity Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards.
Follow guidelines and regulations, company policies, and procedures to ensure that an on-going program of activities is designed to meet, in accordance with the comprehensive assessment, the interests and the physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being of each resident.
Develop activities that are suitable and enjoyable to the residents.
Responsible for all aspects of preparation for activities, including taking attendance, ensuring facility rules are followed, informing participants of safety guidelines, and managing incidents of conflict or medical emergencies.
Oversee the Activities Assistants, as well as any volunteers, to ensure that the residents have a well-rounded and complete activities calendar.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must possess, a minimum, two years of college. Degree preferred but not required.
Must be a qualified therapeutic recreation specialist or an activities professional who is licensed by this state and is eligible for certification as a recreation specialist or as an activity professional.
At least 2 years of experience working with Activities/Recreation in a long-term care or healthcare setting.
Previous management experience is a plus.
Candidates should show evidence of creativity, organizational skills, and cheerful personality.
