Accounts Payable Specialist

Background: Tipton is a 38-year-old, DFW based, full-service real estate firm whose primary business is 3rd party fee management. Our managed portfolio has consisted of apartments, office buildings, retail, manufactured home communities and commercial office condominium associations. Tipton currently manages over 10,000 apartment units, a number of suburban office buildings and several commercial office condominium associations. We are in search of an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our organization due to growth during the past year. This position will be 100% in office at our corporate office in Plano, Tx and report to the Controller.
Key responsibilities include:
Process all manual and special requests for payments received from properties- Review unposted items
- Create Check & ACH batches using appropriate parameters as a reference
- Post all check and Check/ACH/Wire batches
- Process voids as needed
- Communicate with property accountants on a consistent basis
- Monitor and process approved fast pay requests
- Assist in monthly closing activities
- Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Realpage software experience, desired
- Excellent verbal, written and listening skills
- Proactive in identifying issues, opportunities
- Superior organization skills with strong attention to detail
- Must have exceptional 10 key skills
- Ability to shift priorities and manage time effectively, completing a variety of work with changing deadlines accurately and on time
- Ability to handle highly confidential information and perform non-routine duties with discretion and independent judgment
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Team Player and Self-Starter
