Organized in 1937 as Colorado's third rural electric association, we energized our first 175 miles of lines the following year. Today, our service area covers approximately 4,000 square miles of northeastern Colorado and is divided into three representative districts. As an Accounts Payable Clerk, your day kicks off by meticulously processing vendor invoices and ensuring accurate documentation. Your expertise in financial management and attention to detail shines as you collaborate with the Finance and Accounting team to maintain the integrity of our accounts payable processes. From reconciling accounts to resolving inquiries, your contributions play a vital role in keeping our financial operations running smoothly.

WHAT IT TAKES TO BE SUCCESSFUL AS AN ACCOUNTS PAYABLE CLERK:

• Impeccable attention to detail to ensure accurate processing of invoices and records.
• Strong organizational skills to manage workflow and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Proficiency in utilizing accounting software and spreadsheet programs.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and vendors to resolve inquiries and discrepancies.
• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial regulations.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with internal and external stakeholders professionally.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO BE CONSIDERED:

• High school diploma or equivalent. Post-secondary courses in accounting/bookkeeping preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of prior experience in an accounting-related job.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting documents written in English.
• Strong written communication skills.
• Proficient in PC software, spreadsheet, and word processing programs.
• Valid Colorado Driver's License.

WORK SCHEDULE AND LOCATION:

This is a full-time position that follows regular office hours, Monday to Friday.
