The Manager of Accounting is responsible for the monthly close of ICCT. In addition, the position plays a leading role in the annual audit. The Manager is responsible for A/R and revenue recognition and other accounting duties that may include inter-company accounting activities, balance sheet reconciliation, report generation, payroll and accounts payable You will be based in either our Washington, DC or San Francisco office, report to the Director of Finance and Accounting, and work with both program and operations staff at all levels of the organization. The part-time accountant and accountant are direct reports.
You Will:
Oversee the Monthly Close Process
- Administer Payroll, A/P, General Ledger, Accounts Receivable and Revenue Recognition
- Working with finance and development staff, initiate billing invoices related to grants and contracts.
- Manage the Part-Time Accountant in reviewing the A/R Tracker and aging report to ensure timely submission and payment of client invoices, review the bi-weekly payroll.
- Manage the Accountant and the associated duties including the monthly close, revenue recognition and balance sheet reconciliations.
General Accounting
- Oversee and maintain the General Ledger, including posting journal entries, review of accounting structure, report maintenance and general ledger maintenance.
- Lead in building out the capabilities of the Intacct accounting platform.
- In coordination with the Accountant, review of financial packages received from our three oversees entities, as well as the U.S. entity. Responsible for approving transactions for the overseas entities manually via journal entry or other Intacct modules.
- Review monthly balance sheet reconciliations including accrued salaries, expenses and other related balance sheet accounts.
- Responsible for running monthly expense allocation and consolidation in the general ledger system, followed by integration into the budget platform to finalize the monthly close process.
- Leads on currency conversions. Manages multi-currency and works with the Finance Manager with the multi-entity platform in the general ledger and budget platform, ensuring proper currency conversion rates are applied throughout both systems.
- Oversees the bi-weekly payroll process and weekly accounts payable payments
Monthly Reporting
- Develop monthly Intacct dashboard reporting including balance sheets, income statements, cash flows, SoFe and other actionable reports
- In coordination with the Finance Manager, develop quarterly cash flow projections
Support Audit
- Along with the Director of Accounting, take lead role in annual organizational audit, focusing on payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable balances/entries;
Your Have:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field and 5+ years of experience;
- CPA eligible to sit for the exam, CPA preferred
- Experience with accounting software and data entry (ICCT uses the Sage Intacct ERP);
- Solid understanding of accounting theory, including the interactions between the balance sheet and statement of activities;
- Prior experience in A/R and revenue recognition is highly preferred
- Demonstrated ability in analyzing data and making data-driven recommendations;
- Experience implementing policies and procedures in a complex organization;
- Interest working with an international staff of 100+ to support ICCT's mission;
Our Benefits
This full-time position can be based in our Washington, D.C or San Francisco office and have a salary of $117,100 (DC) or $128,810 (SF). We offer an excellent benefits package including health insurance, paid vacation and family leave, a 401k plan with a generous 7% employer contribution, hybrid office/remote flexibilities, transportation subsidy, and other benefits.
