PROGRAM BACKGROUND:
The Fiscal Department is responsible for obtaining, managing, and recording all monies on behalf of MercyFirst. The department controls the income and expenditure in addition to ensuring effective business running with minimum disruptions. Besides the traditional roles of handling the payroll, budgeting, tracking income and expenses, fiscal department responsibilities also include economic analysis to improve key business strategies.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Accounting Manager – Accounts Payable is responsible for overseeing the Accounts Payable department and utilizing best-practices to ensure the accurate, timely processing and reporting of payables. In addition, the Accounting Manager - Accounts Payable is responsible for assisting with the month end close, including recording journal entries and maintaining account analysis and schedules.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 5 years of related work experience in accounting or finance
  • Prior supervisory experience supervising accounting staff
  • Excellent organization skills
  • Good communication skills (both internally and externally)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with Financial Edge software a plus
  • Valid driver's license

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage the full-cycle accounts payable process including month end and year-end reporting and audit support.
  • Oversee, train, develop, evaluate, and provide guidance to assigned staff.
  • Mange escalated issues with vendors and internal company personnel with tact and diplomacy.
  • Monitor AP to ensure timely payments to vendors.
  • Responsible for issuing 1099 forms to vendors at calendar year end.
  • Participates in the month-end closing including recording of monthly journal entries and maintaining schedules for fixed assets, prepaid, and accrued accounts payable expenses.
  • Reconcile A/P sub-ledger to general ledger on a monthly basis.
  • Manage and maintain agreements and contracts with outside vendors.
  • Provide support to Directors and CFO as needed.
  • Assists with other accounting duties including, but not limited to, audits, special projects, and software implementation.

Salary Range:
$60,000 - $90,000 per year
Hiring Incentive of $1,500 afer 500 worked hours
