Job Summary (includes but is not limited to the following, other duties may be assigned)

This position performs routine and moderately complex clerical accounting, reporting and financial functions.

Job Responsibilities


  • 75% - Audit and accurately process accounts payable invoices (PO and Non-PO), Credit Memos, Returns and Expense Reports ensuring compliance with Calpine Energy Solutions policies.
  • 15% - Communicate directly with various internal departments and external partners. Act as a liaison between Client and other departments (e.g. Accounting, Procurement, Accounting Application Support, IT).
  • 5% - Investigates Client-centric system issues. Recommend and write specifications for changes. Participate in multiple projects and process improvement initiatives.
  • 5% - Assist in special projects. Management & Associate Competencies: • Interpersonal Skills/Behaviors: Openness; Focus on Performance; Business Knowledge; Critical Thinking Skills

Job Requirements

  • Requires accounting or finance experience; education may be substituted for the required experience.
  • Must have good knowledge of business and job experience in routine accounting or finance.
  • Must have good knowledge and experience in reconciling vendor statements and accounts.
  • At least 2 years of previous Accounts Payable experience is preferred.
  • Experience in Great Plains and electronic workflow systems is highly desirable.
  • Ideal candidate must possess general knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.
  • Experience with expense report processing is a plus • Ability to convey technical information and prepare written correspondences in a clear and concise manner.
  • Must be able to respond to customer inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Requires excellent service and communication skills and effectively interact with others. Must acquire and maintain intimate knowledge of the customer’s needs and desire to exceed the customer’s expectations.
  • Must be organized and possess the skills of planning, controlling and coordinating in individual activities.
  • Ability to develop understanding of and follow business processes.
  • Ability to develop alternative recommendations to issues within area of functional responsibility.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment. Positively influences others by actions and example.

Salary Information

Salary $46181.70 to $64,654.15
