Brown & Brown Insurance is seeking an Account Manager for our Employee Benefits Team in Portland, Oregon!
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
  • Help customers understand insurance policies/coverages and determine their individual service needs
  • Address technical questions related to self-funded products and experience working with Third Party Administrators
  • Discuss various funding mechanism options with customers, such as level funding, self-funding, etc.
  • Process new customer onboarding and renewal/marketing
  • Work with Account Coordinators to ensure internal systems include current and complete information
  • Make sure carrier certificates/policies/SPDs are received, reviewed for accuracy, and distributed to customers
  • Manage carrier change implementation process and coordinate between customer, carrier, and B&B
  • Maintain up-to-date skills and licensing requirements, and keep current on employers’ compliance obligations and marketplace changes
  • Duties are done independently or in a team environment
  • Other duties or special projects may be assigned
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
  • A current Life & Health Insurance License for required states.
  • At least three (3) years of experience working for an employee benefits broker or health insurance company
  • Strong technical knowledge of self-funding
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of group health and welfare benefit plan coverage, current legislation, rules, laws, and other regulations. Insurance plans, underwriting principals, selection, pricing, rating, and premium calculation
  • Fluent with Microsoft Windows, Office 365, Word, and Excel
  • BenefitPoint experience or skills to learn software program at an accelerated ability and familiarity with AMS360
  • Must have excellent customer service and interpersonal skills while maintaining a high level of confidentiality
  • Acceptable results of a Motor Vehicle Record report at the time of hire and periodically thereafter, and maintenance of minimum acceptable insurance coverages are a requirement of this position
