Job description
The Account Director serves as a brand champion on a key pharmaceutical brand. They lead and inspire the team in the creation of innovative ideas for a portfolio of brands focused in the Managed Markets space.. The primary job functions are to oversee the daily operation, supervise the management of junior team members, strengthen the client relationship, provide strategic support, leadership and guidance to their groups and build business within their current account. Strong Market Access experience and an understanding of the payer audience is required for this position
About the Job:
- Contribute to the development of brand strategy.
- Actively participate in strategic development and ensure that communications plans have alignment between issues, strategies and programming.
- Knows market trends and emerging new drugs in the category.
- Challenges strategy, client direction, market research results, programs or ideas that are not aligned with the brand positioning or long term vision.
- Leads creative and account teams in the development of breakthrough creative.
- Ensures client creative comments are properly interpreted/challenged if necessary.
- Identifies and resolves client conflicts quickly and efficiently.
- Identifies and cultivates new business opportunities for agency and its divisions.
- Keeps management informed of client activity/issues/opportunities.
- Identifies and proposes developmental plans for account team members.
- Assists with fee negotiations and ensures routine monitoring for accuracy and adjustments.
About You:
- You have 7-8 years of experience in Pharmaceutical Advertising.
- You have a strong understanding of healthcare market access (access, reimbursement, payer, etc)
- You’ve managed a team before and are excited to mentor junior talent.
- You’re a great communicator with clients, internal teams and management. Good Supervisory skills
