Works with and engages teachers and support staff to provide leadership for classroom teachers and administrators towards achieving comprehensive, research-based school reform in compliance with federal programs and district initiatives

Schedules, chairs, and maintains required paperwork for Section 504 meetings in regards to eligibility and annual review

Completes appropriate individual 504 student paperwork and maintains organized files on each student at each school and within the Special Services Office

Provides case management by the oversight of student 504 plans within each building

Supports Special Education Department with Instructional Duties as needed

POSITION SUMMARY: To deliver appropriate instruction and services to students and ensure that all students develop the knowledge, skills, and habits of work to become successful individuals and citizens.
JOB LOCATION: Massabesic Middle School
REPORTS TO: Special Education Director, Assistant Special Education Director, Building Administrators
QUALIFICATIONS:
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelor’s degree in specific area of teaching
2. Holds appropriate Maine Department of Education Certification
3. Specific preparation to teach at the appropriate level
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Such duties include but are not limited to:
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary, work year and working conditions to be established by the RSU 57 School Board.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the School Board’s policy on evaluation.
