Are you looking for a long term career at a locally owned and operated Cedar Valley family business since 1936? Then Standard Distribution Co. may be your perfect fit. Join our 2nd shift team as a warehouse team member. Regular hours are Monday-Friday 2:00 PM-10:30 PM and overtime as needed.
Responsibilities for Warehouse Team Member
- Organize stock and merchandise within the warehouse by properly storing goods in their designated location
- Maintain accurate records of products that have been stocked and provide management with an accurate representation of all goods shipped and received
- Verify all incoming shipments to be accurate by comparing the invoice to the order and ensure all goods are in excellent condition
- Monitor and report any missing or lost inventory to management
- Properly pack items to be shipped according to company standards to ensure they arrive in excellent condition
- Accurately maintain company database including all stock and warehouse items
- Reliably retrieve items from within the warehouse to be processed and shipped
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications for Warehouse Worker
- Ability to lift 50 pounds consistently
- Ability to maintain a high level of physicality for prolonged periods and working primarily standing
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Interpersonal skills are essential, as working as a team is vital to maintaining an organized warehouse
- Experience with scanners and scanning software
- Experience using a sit down forklift required
- Record keeping skills necessary to provide accurate information for managers and supervisors regarding warehouse inventory
- Ability to problem solve quickly and prioritize daily tasks according to their importance
- Ability to count as part of the order picking process
- Customer service mentality
